The annual charity event encourages men to grow a moustache for the month of “Movember”—"formerly November", according to the charity—to drive awarness and raise funds for prostate cancer.

The campaign has had huge success since launching in Australia eight years ago, expanding to the UK, US, Spain, South Africa and Belgium.

AKA Asia was appointed following a five-way pitch and will now be tasked with promoting Movember’s first official campaign in the Lion City.

Amy Wright, partner and director of AKA Asia, said planned activations in Singapore will mirror the Movember campaign's “stylish, creative and fun” approach.

She said, “It’s an honour to be part of positive change in society – in this case, bringing to light the taboo subject of prostate cancer.” The agency has brought Singapore actor Adrian Pang on board as an official ambassador.

Greg Rafferty, Asia country manager, added, “The team at AKA Asia impressed us with their strong creativity and clear understanding of the Movember brand and we are confident that the Singapore launch campaign will be a great success."
