New York Festivals International Advertising Awards announces winners in Shanghai

SHANGHAI - New York Festivals, now in its 53rd year of honouring the 'world's best work', announced the winners for its International Advertising Awards at a series of events held over the weekend.

Proctor & Gamble, the multinational Ohio based consumer goods marketer, was presented with the New York Festivals 2010 Advertiser of the Year Award for their commitment to creativity and innovation.

Young & Rubicam was honoured as Agency Network of the Year, receiving a total of nine Gold medals, thirteen Silver medals and dozens of Bronze medals and finalist certificates for its worldwide network of offices.

Jung von Matt, Hamburg, which received 27 medals, including ten Golds, was awarded the Agency of the Year Award.

The prestigious New York Festivals Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to international advertising icons Akira Kagami, global executive creative director of Dentsu in Japan, and Graham Warsop, founder and chief creative officer of The Jupiter Drawing Room (South Africa) & Partners, for their landmark contributions to the advertising industry.

Among the medalists and finalists, 120 entries hailed from Asia. Greater China took the lead with 33 winners, including 17 from the Mainland, 12 from Hong Kong and four from Taiwan. Runner-up Japan took home 28 medals and certificates, and India finished third with 27.
