TAIPEI - Omnicom's OMD has taken over the media assignment for PepsiCo Foods' snack brands with immediate effect.

OMD Taiwan wins PepsiCo Foods' media responsibilities

OMD Taiwan won the rights to full media planning and buying services for Lay`s, SunBites, Doritos and Cheetos.

Commenting on the win, Bella Chai, head of marketing of PepsiCo Foods Taiwan said the media agency demonstrated "in-depth knowledge of the [snack food] industry” during the pitch process with incumbent agency IPG Initiative.

“OMD will pull together the best resources to add value to PepsiCo’s brand objectives and enhance their reputation in Taiwan," Elle Huang, chief executive officer of Omnicom Media Group Taiwan added.

According to Huang, PepsiCo Foods has intentions for its media placements to be more innovative and engaging. She says it "makes sense" for the company to give its Taiwan business to OMD since it already holds the media account for the Chinese market.
