Deryk Tang joins MPG Hong Kong as managing director

HONG KONG – MPG has appointed Deryk Tang (pictured) as managing director for its Hong Kong operation, effective in mid August 2010.

MPG has also put Tang in charge of promoting its digital capabilities through Media Contacts, which aims to expand the operation into a full service digital marketing agency over the next six months.

Tang will report directly to Thomas Wong, CEO of MPG Greater China. Wong said he is confident Tang will give MPG Hong Kong the right resources and leadership to provide clients with effective communication solutions.

The major clients for MPG Hong Kong include DBS, Hermes, BNP Paribas, Hugo Boss, Air France and Credit Suisse.

A 20-year industry veteran, Tang was most recently the country manager of OMG Taiwan and managing director at OMD Taiwan. He joined the Omnicom network in 2008. His experience also includes stints at Carat, Bates 141 and McCann Erickson in Hong Kong.
