PCCW to broadcast Manchester United TV

HONG KONG - PCCW has signed a three-year deal with Manchester United to become its official telecommunications and broadcast partner in Hong Kong.

Now TV will become the official broadcaster of MUTV in Hong Kong with the exclusive broadcasting rights to MUTV, MUTV Online and MU Mobile content.

These will also be available on PCCW's other quadruple-play platforms including now.com.hk, PCCW mobile and PCCW eye2 (its fixed lined service).

MUTV will officially launch on 15 July on now TV's channel 640, a 24-hour channel that offers die-hard Manchster United fans their club-related programmes and matches. The channel will be airing recorded, full coverage of Manchester United matches in the Premier League, UEFA Champions League plus live coverage of Manchester United 2010 pre-season friendly matches in North America and Ireland, among others.

MUTV programs will also be available on-demand online, offering total flexibility in viewing options for  fans.

David Gill, CEO of Manchester United, said: "The Club has a fantastic following in Hong Kong and this new partnership is a very exciting development for them. It is a benchmark by which fans all around the world will measure their media companies."

A print ad campaign has rolled out today to promote the new offering, supported by in-house promo on Now TV, and eDMs.
