The search for his successor will begin in earnest after the formation of a search committee at CASBAA’s next board meeting on 31 January. An executive search company will then be appointed to seek suitable candidates for the CEO role, which Twiston Davies has held for the past 12 years.

Both deputy CEO John Medeiros and vice president operations Jill Grinda have been linked to the role, but Twiston Davies said nobody has been identified as automatic successor. “A professional and thorough search will be conducted, which will be open to both internal and external candidates,” he told Campaign.

The search committee will comprise members of the CASBAA Board and possibly those invited by board members. “We expect the process to be completed by mid-year, so there is a clear succession in place,” said Twiston Davies. “I think this is the right time, amid such rapid change, as our industry is reshaping itself.”

Founded in 1991, the Cable and Satellite Broadcasters’ Association of Asia has 130 member non-profit organisation. Covering 17 geographic markets and encompassing 420 million connections region-wide, CASBAA works to be the authoritative voice for multichannel TV promoting market friendly regulation, IP protection and revenue growth for subscriptions and advertising.
