StarHub launches new channel Food Network Asia

The channel will cater to an Asian viewership base and will include popular Food Network series from the United States as well as other content developed to satisfy local tastes in food programming. The pay TV operator has partnered with Scripps Networks Interactive to broadcast this programme.

"We are delighted to partner with Scripps Networks Interactive to serve Food Network Asia to our customers who have expressed a desire for food-related content," said Ms Ong Bee Lian, StarHub's vice president of Home Solutions. "The new programmes will appeal to our customers and enhance their viewing pleasure."

Alongside this linear channel, the channel will also be made available in high definition on station 468. "The launch on StarHub for a potential three-screen experience in both standard and high-definition is very ambitious and certainly how we would like to see Food Network presented around the world," said Greg Moyer, Scripps Networks International president.

Some key programmings to expect on the channel include Luke Nguyen's Vietnam, Extreme Cuisine With Jeff Corwin, and the highly acclaimed Food Network Challenge
