In this newly created role, Tay will report to Aaron Cowie, CEO of TBWA Kuala Lumpur. Tay will be responsible for overall management and supervision of the agency.

Tay joined TBWA Kuala Lumpur in 2006 as group account director and was promoted to head of account management and new business in 2009. He played a lead role in staff training and the creation of the agency’s internal Pirate University Programme, which saw 19 rising stars graduate in 2012.

“Shaun has contributed significantly to the growth and development of the agency with a record number of new business wins in 2012," Cowie said. "He is instrumental in the agency staying true to its Disruption philosophy and has demonstrated exemplary leadership and commitment.”

“After a great year in 2012, we are looking to deliver even better results this year,” Tay told Campaign Asia-Pacific. “We are still trying to figure out our approaches, but will start from doing more work for Malaysia, and hope to play a bigger regional role as well.”
