Venke Sharma joins Sprinklr after departing from Disney

Venke Sharma has left The Walt Disney Company after an 11-year stint (most recently as executive director—Consumer Strategy and Innovation), joining unified AI customer experience platform Sprinklr as vice president and global head of product strategy.

Sources confirmed to Campaign India that Sharma has made the transition, and will be working out of Mumbai. He will report into chief technology officer Amitabh Mishra.

Campaign understands that Sharma has been given a global mandate and will be responsible for ‘Sprinklr Insights’, a product that provides real-time consumer, competitor and market insights with 90% accuracy. He will be responsible for refining the product narrative for the software company and improving the go-to-market (GTM) approach, simplifying implementation to drive adoption.

During his tenure with Disney, Sharma handled various aspects including digital marketing, customer relationship management, consumer strategy and innovation. In 2013, he began working on a mandate to build and nurture the digital marketing and CRM capability across the Star India network. He has executed numerous campaigns including the 'Satyamev Jayate' for Star Plus, Indian Premier League (IPL), Pro Kabaddi League launch and the iconic 'Mauka Mauka' for Star Sports. He helped scale the CRM practice to handle a large volume of consumer responses across all channel brands and Disney+ Hotstar. Sharma also established 'The Distillery,' Disney Star’s data-driven analytics nerve center, which soon transformed into a global insights hub, collaborating with various Disney teams worldwide.

Sharma has over 24 years of experience, and began his career at Mudra Communications as a general manager. He has worked across Tribal DDB India, ARC Worldwide, Leo Burnett Worldwide and Star TV Network.

Sprinklr is an enterprise software company for all customer-facing functions that helps companies deliver human experiences to every customer across any modern channel. Headquartered in New York City, Sprinklr works with more than 1,400 enterprises and global brands including Microsoft, P&G, Samsung amongst others.
