Watatawa Singapore hires key regional staff

SINGAPORE - Watatawa has strengthened its regional offering with three senior hires, including Financial Times veteran John Burton, former Burston-Marsteller Singapore leader Allison Lim, and ex-Financial Dynamics Singapore head Laurel Teo.

Burton, who will be based in Seoul, has been appointed regional head of media strategy, while Lim and Teo will both join as associate partners.

The firm, which bills itself as a stakeholder engagement consultancy, was established last year by Bil Rylance who was previously global vice-chairman and Asia-Pacific CEO of Burson-Marsteller.  It draws its name from the phrase, 'walk the talk, and talk the walk'.

The firm currently works with clients in Singapore, Hong Kong and Indonesia and is expanding its presence in South Korea.

According to Rylance, the leadership team has been assembled to "ensure clients get objective and strategic advice by bringing together a deep knowledge of the Asian region, experience across a range of communications diciplines, journalistic knowledge and integrity."
