Cary Huang is the new CEO of Kinetic China and GroupM's OOH unit.

Huang was most recently CEO of Simei, a publicly-listed communication group. He is also no stranger to WPP, having served stints with Ogilvy, Mindshare and MediaCom before.

In the dual role, Huang will be responsible for "synergising the resources and talents of these two companies", focusing on planning and trading in OOH (out-of-home) advertising in China, according to the company.

Huang replaces Claudine Kwek, who oversaw trading strategy and vendor relationship management for Kinetic China, as well as Joule and Forward under WPP.

Based in Shanghai, he will report to Patrick Xu, CEO of GroupM China and WPP China, and Marc-Antoine de Roys, Kinetic's global CEO. Huang will also become a member of GroupM China's executive committee and Kinetic’s global leadership team.
