Nest launches Metta platform for entrepreneurs, startups and brands

HONG KONG - While startup accelerators tend to be more cyclical, Metta aims to provide an ongoing way for entrepreneurs, startups and brands to collaborate.

Nest is calling Metta a members-only “community-driven entrepreneurs’ club that connects people, ideas and resources”. More specifically it aims to bring together “founders and startups, industry influencers, investors, educators, and forward-thinking corporations”.

The platform, which is invested in and backed by Nest, aims to focus on building a community offline and online through live events and a physical space “entrepreneurs can call home”. The Metta space is located at California Tower in Hong Kong's Lan Kwai Fong area in the Central district and will give priority access to members.

Small workshops and presentations with industry experts through to large-scale networking sessions will take place at the venue. From there, Metta will curate and create content based on the event and deliver it to a wider audience.

The space also features a coffee shop called BrewBar by The Coffee Academics, serving coffee and refreshments to members and their guests. Nest aims to expand Metta globally.

“Hong Kong has been built on entrepreneurship and creativity and we need places like Metta for entrepreneurs and ideas to converge," said Dr. Allan Zeman, founder and chairman of Lan Kwai Fong Group. "Having Mettā in the heart of Lan Kwai Fong, it will elevate the whole area as well as Hong Kong as the hub of entrepreneurship and I believe it will also pose a positive impact on the ecosystem.”
