A roundup of recent people moves in Greater China

GREATER CHINA - As the industry reawakens from the holiday season, here is a round-up of people moves across advertising, marketing and media over the past month.

Peter Cheng (pictured) has quit his post as chief operating officer of AdChina to join Tencent Holdings as general manager of its online media group’s advertising platform. Cheng will take charge of all of Tencent’s advertising-related business, and will report to SY Lau, senior executive vice president of Tencent and president of its online media group.

David Wolf heads to Allison+Partners as managing director of its global China practice shuttling between Beijing and Los Angeles to counsel American, Chinese, and European clients on global communications challenges. His company Wolf Group Asia was bought over by Allison+Partners in the US PR firm's first move into China.

TripAdvisor has appointed Leslie Chu as head of display advertising sales for Greater China. Based in Beijing, Chu brings with him 13 years of marketing experience in the internet industry. Most recently he was country GM for Microsoft’s advertising and online business in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Former GM of corporate communications at Cathay Pacific, CK Yeung, has joined the Chinese University of Hong Kong as a part-time lecturer in its journalism department. Yeung is a veteran in the Hong Kong PR industry, having held senior management roles like the head of external relations for Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Alfred Tsoi has taken the CEO role at JDB Holdings, the network company of JobsDB, 88DB, Openrice, politicalarena, CJOL, cozycot, streetdirectory, and SGCarMart. He led Yahoo Hong Kong for over a decade as its VP & managing director since 1999.
