Bates141 Shanghai scores 361 Degrees’ BTL, retail and sports marketing business

SHANGHAI - Bates141 Shanghai has taken home the Hong Kong–listed Chinese sports apparel brand 361 Degrees' BTL, retail and sports marketing account. It is the agency's first sports client in China.

Ogilvy & Mather China is still 361 Degrees' main brand agency in China.

361 Degrees counts Li Ning, Xstep and Anta as its main competitors. According to its website, the brand operates through 30 exclusive distributors who supervise about 3,500 authorised dealers that operates over 6,660 outlets throughout China.

Unlike its bigger counterparts, 361 Degrees' stores are often located in local neighourhoods.

361 signed up as the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games sponsor, becoming the first China sports brand to sponsor the Asian Games.

The brand was first launched in January 2004. It denotes 360 degrees plus one extra degree, representing the company's goal to meet athlete's need for professional functionality, plus an added degree of innovation and creativity.

Bates141 Shanghai has scooped a number new accounts this year, including Four Seasons, Filtrete, CIGNA & CMC and Green Court Property.

Reported in 2009, Bates141 won a Li Ning global project brief to raise the brand's appeal outside the domestic market.
