French food company Danone has awarded its media duties in China to Publicis Media's Spark Foundry.

The win, following a pitch, consolidates planning and buying duties across Danone's ELN (Early Life Nutrition) and DWC (Danone Waters China) business units. The incumbents were Wavemaker for ELN and OMD for DWC. The combined annual billings are more than US $150 million, according to Spark Foundry.

The pitch began in May, and Spark takes over on January 1.

“With Danone’s ambition of driving digital transformation and shaping growth acceleration in China, Spark have demonstrated strong competencies, and we look forward to a successful and productive relationship,” said a joint statement from Min Qian, C&P associated director of ELN China and Joe Zhao, commercial director for media and e-commercem marketing of DWC.

Vivian Zhu, CEO of Spark Foundry Greater China, said the Spark team demonstrated a data-driven approach to media and convinced Danone it was the right partner to fuel business growth.
