Offering services in areas such as creative, technical and marketing, the new digital shop will be led by Carlo Ople as managing director. With experience in the fields of gaming, social networking, mobile marketing, tech-talk, media and publishing, Ople had previously worked with Level Up, Friendster and The New Media.

Merlee Jayme, chairman and chief creative officer, noted that Ople has a solid background and experience in all relevant disciplines, including online publishing, content marketing and social media.

DM9 JaymeSyfu started its digital operations two years ago with the appointment of a digital creative. It has since been handling the digital requirements of Gabriela, Collezione, The Villar Foundation, Rustan's Weddings & Beyond, and the country's biggest telco, PLDT.

To meet the growing need for digital offerings, the agency started Digit, which will work very closely with the DM9 JaymeSyfu team. Former DM9 JaymeSyfu ECD, Eugene Demata, has been named ECD at Digit, tasked with integrating the creative strategy of the agency into the new digital shop.

Demata has won awards at Cannes Lions, Clio, New York Festivals, London International Advertising, D&AD, Spikes, ADFEST, One Show and AME. “It will always be great ideas first, supported by technology, creative strategy and planning, with a long-term vision of making digital-led campaigns,” he said.

DM9 JaymeSyfu has appointed Louie Sotto, who was part of the original team at its launch seven years ago, as its new ECD. Sotto, who joined from BBDO Guerrero, has won awards at Cannes, Clio, D&AD, London International, Adfest, Spikes, and The New York Festivals.

DM9 JaymeSyfu is the winner of Campaign Asia-Pacific's Philippines Creative Agency of the Year 2012.
