The appointment, which came after a competitive pitch, will see both agencies working with the brand to drive business in the region.

UM is responsible for the communication strategy, media planning and implementation for the brand, while Ensemble Thailand will bring to life branded content and activation to consumers. Ensemble Thailand is the branded entertainment division of IPG Advertising, specialising in content-related marketing services.

Tharaputh Charuvatana (pictured), managing director of UM Thailand, noted that the pitch brings together a range of media channels and activation.

GED owns a range of pharmaceutical brands including Decolgen, Solmax, Kremil and Nutroplex. Founded in 1961, the distributor and importer of modern medicine is recognised as one of the pioneer healthcare companies in the country.

Rhett V Hemedes, head of OTC Marketing, GED said both agencies presented a new direction that will push on the brand and category. “Their ideas and passion for innovative strategies impressed us and will look forward to seeing the teams leverage their knowledge and expertise to help grow our business,” he added.
