Sammartino has over 15 years’ experience in marketing and communications. He has worked at Kraft, Fosters, P&G (Gillette) and Kimberly Clark in Australia, Asia-Pacific and Europe.

Sammartino is also a sessional marketing lecturer and tutor at Melbourne University and has spent the last three years building his own business - www.rentoid.com - a peer to peer renting portal and running his blog.

Managing partner of Grey Group Melbroune, Luke Waldren described the appointment as a "bold move" and said: “In some ways we’re forging new ground, in that Steve has never worked in an agency. He’s worked with loads of agencies via his client roles but this is new for him.”

“I really believe that as advertising changes around us, we too need to find new ways and recruit people that add another dimension to our business,” added Waldren.
