TOKYO - In line with the agency's ongoing efforts to strengthen its digital practice in the region, Euro RSCG has named Linus Heilpern (pictured) its business director in Tokyo, charged with driving Euro's digital practice across the market.

Heilpern was previously a partner at Mindshare Beijing, where he oversaw IBM’s strategic business. Off the back of his experience in China, Heilpern will focus on Euro’s IBM business in Tokyo, in addition to developing the agency’s client roster in Japan.

IBM is Euro’s global client.

“Across the region we are beefing up our digital ranks, adding solid digital leadership in Australia, India, China, Singapore, and now Japan with Linus,” said Andrew Knott, the agency’s Asia-Pacific chief digital officer.

Heilpern will report to Euro RSCG Tokyo CEO, Kimihito Okubo. The appointment is effective immediately.

In addition to his time at Mindshare, Heilpern worked at Euro RSCG in both Tokyo and Hong Kong from 2000 to 2004. He has also been at BBDO and M&C Saatchi in Asia, working with clients including Intel, Fujitsu, Google, Emirates, British Airways, Hong Kong Tourism, Mandarin Oriental and American Express.

At Euro RSCG Japan, he will assist key clients such as Jaguar, Chivas, Reckitt Benckiser and Universal Pictures.

The appointment comes during an active period for Euro RSCG’s digital practice. In January, Euro appointed Knott to his current role, and last year, Ashok Lalla, Billboard Kwok and Ben Phillips were taken on to manage the agency’s digital in India, Greater China and Australia, respectively.
