SYDNEY - Ogilvy Sydney has appointed Gerry Cyron as its new brand strategy director.

Ogilvy hires brand strategy director in Sydney

Cyron joins Ogilvy from BMF where he was most recently the lead planner for the Melbourne operation working across a range of leading brands such as Lion Nathan, Goodman Fielder, Commonwealth Bank, Foxtel and Meat & Livestock Association.

Prior to his four years at BMF, Cyron was a senior strategic planner at JWT Sydney, Bates Singapore and Clemenger BBDO Melbourne with clients including Nokia, Pfizer, Kellogg’s, Heineken and Masterfoods. Born and educated in Germany, Cyron also brings international experience having started his career at BBDO Düsseldorf.

Ogilvy Australia’s executive chairman Tom Moult said of his appointment, “In my experience, planners often get a great rap from either creative people or from clients. Gerry gets rave reviews from both. I’m really chuffed that we’ve lured him onto the Ogilvy team.”

“This is a great opportunity for me as Ogilvy places a strong emphasis on planning
and has great iconic brands," added Cyron.
