P&G media director Singh to relocate to Thailand to oversee Southeast Asia markets

Singh was promoted to media director for Asia-Pacific in P&G Greater China on 1 September 2010.

In P&G Greater China, Donna Wu, associate director and long-term P&G executive, will fill some of Singh’s responsibilities in Greater China and report to him.

Following a decision to base the business in the fast-growing Asia beauty market, P&G annouced in its statement on 11 May that it will relocate top executives in its skin, cosmetics and personal care unit to Singapore to capitalise on the burgeoning Asia-Pacific market. The unit's 'leadership team' will move from P&G's headquarters in Cincinnati over the next two years starting on 1 August.

"This move will bring these businesses to the center of the greatest growth opportunity for these categories," the statement said.

According to Euromonitor, P&G accounts for 5.8 per cent of Asia's skincare market, led by its Olay and SK-II brands.

Reported on 15 March, P&G has admitted that it needs to make "fundamental shifts" in its approach to digital marketing and move spend out of TV advertising into digital channels.

Marc Pritchard, global marketing and brand building officer at P&G, was talking at a P&G conference held in the consumer goods company's Cincinnati headquarters. He outlined its new approach to digital marketing as it aimed to build "lifelong, one-to-one relationships in real time with every person in the world". He said, "today is not about digital marketing, it's about brand building in the digital world."
