Reed Exhibitions has formed a joint venture with Shanghai Forever Exhibition as part of its expansion into the Chinese automative manufacturing sector.

The new company, Reed Exhibitions Hengjin, will manage the Automative Manufacturing Technology & Material Show (AMTS), a Chinese trade event in automotive engineering and the co-located Assembly & Handling Technology Exhibition (AHTE).

Reed Exhibitions Hengjin will also run a series of conferences and seminars covering the automotive engineering and industrial assembly hubs. According to a statement on the joint venture, both AMTS and AHTE have a combined reach of around 100,000sqm and 77,000 trade visitors in 2018. The events hosted 240 delegation groups from automotive manufacturers.

Zhou Xiaochuan, founder of Shanghai Forever Exhihibition said the partnership with Reed Exhibitions, which he credited for having a strong global network and tradeshow expertise, allows AMTS and AHTE to reach out to the international market. Likewise, Michael Cheng, president of Reed Exhibitions Greater China, said the partnership allows Reed Exhibitions to expand into the Chinese market.
