The film, entitled ‘Dear Japan,’, was developed by Hakuhodo Kettle, Aoi Advertising Promotion and aoiasia. It aims to provide moral support to those affected by the recent events in Japan by drawing on the experiences of everyday people in Thailand affected by the 2004 tsunami and showing how they were able to rebuild their lives.

The interviews were conducted in Thai but are screened with Japanese and English subtitles. Ai Yamamoto, a producer at Aoi who worked on the film, said the decision to make the film was prompted by numerous messages of support and encouragement received from the Thai people following the disaster.

The producers are currently in talks with various TV stations and online platforms as to the possibility of broadcasting the film. In particular, it is hoped that the film will be screened in the two worst affected prefectures.
