Toby Hayward to leave GroupM Singapore

SINGAPORE - GroupM today announced that Toby Hayward, CEO Singapore is to leave the company.

Hayward who joined GroupM in August 2010 resigned earlier this week and will leave the company with immediate effect to take a three month gardening leave. At this stage he has no future plans with any other organization.

Mark Patterson, GroupM CEO APAC said that he understands the reasons for Hayward’s decision (to resign), “He leaves with our sincere thanks for his time and hard work with us and best wishes for his next step. As someone with significant and varied experience in this part of the world we look forward to seeing him take up a new role in the industry. He has made many friends here at GroupM and leaves the business in good shape with a strong management team and a host of young talent.”

Patterson added that he will be looking for new leadership for Group M’s Singapore business and in the in the meantime, the company’s regional teams will provide all the support required to manage their clients and people to the highest possible standards.”

Hayward replaced James Chadwick who left the role in September 2010 to return to his native UK.

Hayward joined Group M from CNBC Asia Pacific, and has 30 years of media buying and selling experience under his belt. Prior to working for Star TV as the vice president of client services and as the executive vice president of advertising sales, Hayward worked in various media buying roles over 15 years. At McCann Erickson Advertising, he was the regional media coordinator based in Hong Kong, and worked as the broadcast director for Leo Burnett Advertising in London for over six years.
