Up to five international agencies including Leo Burnett, McCann Healthcare, Ogilvy, Saatchi and Y&R as well as four local shops were pitching for the account.

Y&R Thailand plans to launch a major campaign in September to educate Thai youth on AIDS awareness and prevention.

The campaign will consist of up to five TVCs as well as work on print, digital, viral and radio channels.

According to Sanjay Bhasin, CEO of Y&R Thailand, the agency's ideas for the pitch will be used for the campaign and his agency won the pitch across all criteria in creative, strategy and use of media.

Founded in 1991 by a former member of the Thai Senate, Jon Ungphakorn, the Aids Access Foundation, in collaboration with volunteers from the Thai Volunteer Service Foundation, was an initiative in response to the growing HIV epidemic in Thailand and a lack of organisations responding to the issue at that time.

The organisation aims to launch initiatives to control and cope with the HIV epidemic from a humanitarian and human, social development perspective.
