Ascential fuses four e-commerce subsidiaries into one

Clients have had to rely on multiple providers in the past for a complete picture of their online sales performance.

Ascential fuses four e-commerce subsidiaries into one

The former Brand View (2018, recently acquired by Ascential), Clavis Insight (2017), One Click Retail (2016) and Planet Retail RNG (2015) now form the foundation of a new business called ‘Edge by Ascential’. Combined, the new entity has over 400 employees in 10 offices across North America, Europe and Asia.

It was launched this week as “the next-generation data, insights and advisory service” to give brand manufacturers and retailers worldwide an “edge” to win in today’s ecommerce-driven retail environment, said Declan Kearney, MD of Edge APAC.

Brand View is renamed as Edge Price Promotion, Clavis Insight is now Edge Digital Shelf, One Click Retail is now Edge Market Share, and Planet Retail RNG is now Edge Retail Insights.

Offerings include:

• Weekly, daily and real-time digital shelf performance metrics
• Monitoring of price movements, promotions, availability, product content changes and new product listings
• SKU- and category-level online sales and share
• Traffic, search optimisation and conversion measurements
• In-depth price and promotion analytics and benchmarking
• Competitive and market intelligence
• Omnichannel go-to-market and market optimisation strategies

Michael Lisowski, president of Edge and chief operating officer of Ascential, said Ascential had sought to acquire leading solutions and invest in them to take them up a notch. "Edge by Ascential is that next level: we are now able to provide our customers, who up until today have had to rely on multiple solutions providers, a complete picture of their online performance, be it digital shelf analytics, online sales and share measurement, market optimization intelligence or product pricing and promotion tracking."
