ICC Cricket content bid in Australia
The International Cricket Council broadcast rights tender bid is due this Friday. ESPN Star Sports issued its tender at the end of January and the incumbent broadcasters for this event are Fox Sports and Channel Nine.
The events up for bid include the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup, which will be held in Australia this August and the ICC Cricket World Cup, to be held in Australia in 2015.
So far the interest has been strong, commented Anurag Dahiya, senior vice-president, corporate development and cricket rights.
SBS to broadcast UEFA Euro 2012 in Australia
SBS Australia has secured free-to-air TV broadcast rights for the UEFA Euro 2012 and will be screening eight matches, including four live finals including the final on 2 July.
The show will be hosted by The World Game's Les Murray and David Basheer with analysis from Craig Foster and David Zdrillic. Martin Tyler will provide commentary for all eight games, while SBS reporter Vitor Sobral will be on the ground in Poland and Ukraine.
SBS will also stream the live matches online and provide live scores, news, results and video highlights.
