China's SNS RenRen.com launches five new services

BEIJING – Chinese social networking website RenRen.com has announced the launch of five new features - RenRen Like, Places, Aiting, Party and an new Public Page.

RenRen.com's 'Like' function enhances the sharing feature of the SNS site. The ‘Like’ button also brings in external sites to the user’s profile as news feeds.

RenRen Places is a location-based service offering. This mobile feature function as a ‘check-in’ service for mobile users. It also locates friends nearby that have activated the application and offers promotions from nearby retail outlets.

RenRen Party is the SNS’s self-developed social game that brings users together to party virtually.

Public Page benefits advertisers and brands to set up company pages online to interact with users. It creates a customisable voice for approved brands, public figures or organisations and invites RenRen users to join the conversations.

RenRen intends to open Public Page to regular users in the near future. The move is to create an online platform for individuals in the community with special interests.
