Fujian Benz is the sole manufacturer of Mercedes Benz light commercial vehicles in China. Founded in 2007 as a joint venture of Fujian Motor Industry Group and Daimler Vans, it produces the Viano, Vito and Sprinter.
Jung von Matt/Tonghui was already working for Mercedes Benz and two other Mercedes Benz business units: Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Mercedes-Benz Financial Services.
The client had most recently worked with Y&R and Ogilvy.
“After seven years in China, we are looking for some big changes not only in our product portfolios but also in the ways we reach out to our customers—by tapping into new communication platforms and innovative mediums,” said Bjoern Hauber, CEO of Fujian Benz.
The agency won the business after two rounds of "intensive assessment" of selected agencies, according to Ralf Kraemer, Fujian Benz's director of sales and marketing.
