MEC China hires Theresa Loo as new head of strategic planning

SHANGHAI - MEC China has appointed Theresa Loo (pictured) as head of strategic planning, analytics and insight, based in Shanghai and reporting to Dominic Ng, national MD of MEC.

Loo will develop MEC’s strategic planning, analytic and insight product across their three offices in China.

Loo has over 15 years' marketing experience spanning from 4A agencies to client side to research. Her last job was at Research International China where she worked on research projects for clients including Johnson & Johnson, Jahwa, Unilever and Accor.

She was previously marketing director for Bright Dairy in Shanghai and has worked in senior roles at Ogilvy & Mather and JWT.

Armed with a PhD in marketing, Loo also teaches courses in marketing communications at some of the top universities in Shanghai and the UK.

Michelle Ko, president of MEC China who recently joined from GroupM, said: “Theresa is a huge asset to our leadership team in China, with outstanding skills in client marketing communications and a wealth of experience in running research projects to unearth analytics and consumer insights. We’re thrilled to have her join us”.
