KUALA LUMPUR - Pay-TV broadcaster Astro Malaysia is believed to have handled its creative business for its Malay channels to NagaDDB.

This win came after the broadcaster shortlisted four agencies for the pitch in August. Among the agencies included were NagaDDB, Ogilvy & Mather Malaysia, Grey Group Malaysia, and McCann Erickson Malaysia. Incumbent Paragon Y&R was not shortlisted.

The creative pitch was called in the middle of the year, as part of a routine review of its agencies.

Nevertheless, it is understood that Astro Malaysia has yet to tender notice to Paragon Y&R, despite the news of NagaDDB winning the creative business for Astro Malay channels having been made known last week.

The account is a retainer contract, which includes the network's entire range of Malay language channels includes Astro Ria, Astro Ceria, Astro Prima and Astro Citra.

According to NagaDDB's website, it has previously done some creative work for Astro Chinese channels and the 'Prison Break' programme.
