Omnicom expands presence in India, opens new Centers of Excellence

The expansion comes as Omnicom announced a new entity in India in November 2023—Omnicom Advertising Services—to oversee the company’s creative agencies in the region, with Aditya Kanthy at the helm as CEO.

Global marketing communications network Omnicom Group is expanding its presence in India with the launch of three new Global Solutions Centers of Excellence (COEs) in metropolitan cities.

With an aim to tap into India’s fast-growing economy and diverse talent, the global agency network has opened three new campus locations in Bengaluru, Chennai and Gurugram to drive innovation and enhance client services across the company.

A fourth location will be opened in Hyderabad in October.

Designed to accommodate Omnicom’s expanding footprint and global client solutions capabilities, these COEs will house a diverse talent pool of over 5,500 colleagues. The newly built, state-of-the-art offices will provide best-in-class collaborative environments for Omnicom’s talent in India.

Through their expertise in media, data and analytics, creative, digital commerce, marketing technology, and AI, these Centers will also support the Group’s agencies around the world, driving efficiencies for its clients.

Commenting on the development, John Wren, chairman and CEO, Omnicom said, “India is a country of creativity and technology with diverse, dynamic and talented people. Our India operations are helping us transform from within, improving our client offerings and providing operating efficiencies. We are rapidly scaling and will continue to increase the number of colleagues in Omnicom’s Global Solutions Centers over the next few years, making them a key component of Omnicom’s growth.”

In November 2023, Omnicom announced a new entity in India—Omnicom Advertising Services—to oversee the company’s creative agencies BBDO, DDB Mudra Group and TBWA in the region, with Aditya Kanthy at the helm as CEO. Prior to this movement, Kanthy was heading DDB Mudra Group as CEO. Through Omnicom Advertising Services, the group aims to capitalise on talent housed within its networks and work in partnership with the likes of Omnicom Media Group and other agencies.

Omnicom is a provider of data-inspired, creative marketing and sales solutions. The company offers a range of services in advertising, strategic media planning and buying, precision marketing, retail and digital commerce, branding, experiential, public relations, healthcare marketing and other specialty marketing services to over 5,000 clients in more than 70 countries.
