UM China bags three new local accounts: Conba, Supor and Heinz Longfeng

SHANGHAI - UM China has added three new local accounts to its portfolio, two Shanghai-listed companies Conbra pharmaceutical and cookware and home appliance brand Supor, and Heinz Longfeng, a major frozen food brand, owned by international food giant Heinz.

Conba is one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in China,  engaged in the research, development, and production of pharmaceutical products primarily in China. Its media adspend is over US$16 million a year.

This client previously worked with Mindshare and a local media agency, and did the media buying itself. It currently uses a local creative agency. UM has secured strategic planning responsibilities for Conba following a competitive pitch, with the client citing its deep knowledge of the local market, strong relationships with top-tier media in China, and its advanced optimisation skills as key to the winning formula.

Supor is one of China’s leading cookware and home appliance brands, based in Hangzhou. The French cookware giant SEB is its dominant shareholder. In the home appliance market, Supor competes with other major local players like Midea and Joyoung.

UM China has also been appointed by Heinz Longfeng, a household frozen food brand, particularly famous in Shanghai for its sweetened rice ball products. UM won the account based on its strong working relationship with the company, and its creative approach to digital, the agency said.

Jacky Yang, managing partner and Cindy Dai, national planning director, who joined UM China this year, were the driving force behind the new wins, Cary Huang, managing director of UM China, said.

“We have been working incredibly hard to get UM China back to where it should be," he added. "These wins are testament to that diligent hard work, and are just the start of the many successes on our journey back to securing the high regard UM deserves to be held in.”
