As national planning director, Dai fills the vacancy left by  Amy Peng, ex-UM China chief strategic officer, who resigned from the company after five months. Dai is responsible for product planning throughout China, while Yang is responsible for providing leadership and direction for UM’s Beijing Office.

Both report directly to Cary Huang, managing director, UM China , who joined the company last June from MediaCom Shanghai where he was MD.

Dai also joins UM from MediaCom where she was business director, serving on client accounts  Bausch & Lomb, Centrum, Supor and Akzo Nobel as well as leading new business pitches.

Yang joins UM from Mindshare Shanghai, having replaced Polun Up who joined the company on a temporary contract. As a partner, Yang was responsible for leading strategy development for the firm’s multinational clients, including Garnier and Maybelline.

Huang described the hires as "top notch media people". They are in addition to the appointments of  Vingo Yang as media planning director, and Mike Zeng as China digital head earlier this summer.
