Universal McCann Malaysia appoints Padma Ramaswamy as associate director

KUALA LUMPUR - Universal McCann (UM) Malaysia has appointed Padma Ramaswamy as associate director of its marketing consultancy service.

Ramaswamy, who holds an MBA in marketing and finance, previously worked with Nielsen as client manager for companies including ING, Microsoft, Vodafone and P&G.

Prashant Kumar, CEO of UM Malaysia said: “Our marketing consultancy services truly matured in 2009, and we’re targeting 20 per cent of our 2010 revenue from this area. Padma’s expertise in social research and a strong perspective of the marketing big picture is truly an asset to our fast expanding team."

UM’s consultancy service has advised leading marketers in the financial, broadcasting, telecoms, publishing, FMCG and retail sectors.

“Media is about marketing and it is difficult to draw the lines,” said Kumar. “An upstream plug into the clients’ business will help us effect bigger changes to their marketing and also garner respectable margins for us.”
