Bite Communications wins key HP account in APAC, EMEA

ASIA-PACIFIC - Hewlett-Packard has handed Bite Communications its corporate innovation and sustainability communications account in Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Middle East.

Bite Communications wins key HP account in APAC, EMEA
Bite has worked with HP on the same account in the United States since August.

Reports note that Hill & Knowlton was the incumbent for the business.

According to the agency, Bite will oversee media relations campaigns that support HP’s corporate innovation and sustainability initiatives and help roll out a global campaign in the markets.

In HP’s Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) region, Bite will specifically oversee media initiatives in key markets including Singapore, China and India. Clare Gayner has been brought on from Text 100 to lead the account across the region. She is based in Singapore.

“The assignment is part of new initiatives coming from HP,” David Ketchum, Asia-Pacific president of Bite Communications, said of the win. "It’s among our top 10 accounts."

The deal that finalises HP’s global communications lineup, comes more than a month after HP awarded Weber Shandwick its corporate communications account across EMEA, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Canada.

The business is thought to be worth US$1 million in Asia-Pacific and $2 million in EMEA. Burson-Marsteller was previously retained for HP's corporate communications in Asia-Pacific, while EMEA corporate work was handled by Hill & Knowlton.
