Cheil China scoops China Mobile'S GoTone account in Beijing

BEIJING - China Mobile has appointed Cheil Worldwide Beijing to its US$6.5 million 'GoTone' creative account.

Cheil China be responsible for the overall marketing and branding for ‘GoTone’ – China Mobile's biggest consumer brand targeting the business sector in Beijing, including its consumer membership maintenance and enterprise customer service business.

The new account was won after a creative pitch that involved Ogilvy & Mather, Publicis, BBDO, WE Marketing and Joyous.

The business was previously handled by Publics Beijing. Ogilvy  & Mather currently holds China Mobile's M-zone account.

Jason Zhao, Cheil Worldwide Greater China COO & ECD said: “We have a stable team and promised the client that the team which attended the pitch would be the team that served them."

Cheil Worldwide's China team also won China Mobile’s retail business pitch last July, and is in the process of doing a facelift for the retail design of their stores in China this summer.
