Havas Group has promoted Anita Nayyar to Havas Media Southeast Asia CEO, a newly created role designed to drive the agency’s growth in the region.

Nayyar will take on her new responsibilities in addition to her position as India CEO of Havas Media, and will seek to help Indian brands expand in Southeast Asia. She will also work closely with local and regional leadership to promote better integration across Havas Media to drive new business and coordinate client strategy.

Nayyar joined Havas Media in 2007 as India CEO, bringing with her more than 30 years’ industry experience. She reports to Vishnu Mohan, chairman and CEO of Havas Group India & Southeast Asia.

Mohan said: “There is a tremendous opportunity for brands in India to tap into the region’s growth story and Anita’s experience is an asset that will help us move ahead in that direction.”

Nayyar said she sees Southeast Asia as “a pivotal market of the future for brands across a range of verticals", adding that the "possibilities for growth are endless".
