Both promotions have taken effect immediately.  Ang, who was only promoted to the Beijing managing director role last January, will report to Doug Pearce, chief executive of OMG, China, while Zou will report to SiewPing Lim, chief executive of OMD, China.

In this newly-created role, Ang will drive the digital vision for the group, ensuring OMG is at the forefront of the digital evolution in China.

“Arlene has the ability to continually evolve our resource and capabilities to maximise new opportunities leading to competitive strengths for our clients,” Pearce asserted. "She has done a great job for OMD in Beijing and we are fortunate to have her within the network to take on this important role.”

Ang has over 22 years of experience in traditional advertising, digital, customer relationship management, social, and mobile. She has worked in and around the China media industry since 1993.

She joined OMD in June 2010, to head up the accounts of Intel and Monster.com.  besides managing OMD’s search and digital analytics offering before taking up the Beijing office leadership role.

In her early career, Ang started her own digital business that she built into an eight-office network, eventually acquired by Publicis. She later became regional managing director for Publicis Modem in Asia-Pacific for three years and head of digital marketing Asia-Pacific at Publicis for nearly two years.

Meanwhile Mentor Zou has over 16 years of experience in advertising in China. He joined OMD in 2004 and has managed a diverse range of clients, including Dong Feng PSA (Citroën, Peugeot), Visa, Levi’s and Fedex – over the last seven years.

Lim commented that Zou is an enterprising leader and a key member of OMD’s executive management team, "among Mentor’s key strengths is his deep insights into China’s domestic clients. I look forward to Mentor building on Arlene’s achievement and furthering the growth of the OMD Beijing office”.

Reported in July, Gloria Li, most recently was head of TV trading for OMG China, has been promoted to CEO of OMG's China trading and accountability division, known internally as OPera.

Reported last April, Omnicom Group's field marketing company Unisono has appointed Richard Raju as its China CEO.

Meanwhile, former OMD Shanghai head of digital Martin Shaw has joined Maxus Hong Kong as head of digital for North Asia in mid-August.
