Based in Beijing, Tan will oversee the operation and business development across the group in China. He will be joined by current managing director of DDB Shanghai, Jesse Lin, who is due to take on a position as vice-president at DDB China Group.

The executive movements are said to be a part of a management consolidation plan at DDB including the formation of a China Executive Committee chaired by Dick van Motman, president and CEO, Michael Dee, chief creative officer, Nee Chuan Teo, chief financial officer, Tan and Lin.

“Richard’s appointment reinforces our commitment to DDB Guoan. It’s time to replicate the phenomenal growth we have witnessed in Shanghai and Beijing. I can’t think of a better person to do the job,” said Motman.
