Telkomsel shortlists agencies

JAKARTA - Telkomsel, one of Indonesia's leading mobile phone operators, has shortlisted four creative and six media agencies as part of a full-service review that it initiated several weeks ago.

The shortlist does not include creative incumbents JWT and Hotline, who have been servicing the account for a long time. The creative agencies that have made it to the second round include Ogilvy & Mather, McCann Erickson, Leo Burnett and Coleman Handoko.

The shortlisted media agencies include ZenithOptimedia, Mediavest, Havas Media and incumbent Initiative. Sources suggest two local agencies have also made it to the shortlist.

Reports suggest that the telco will further shortlist two agencies each for both media and creative before making the selection.
The review is being managed by R3.

Telkomsel is one of Indonesia’s top five spenders for advertising and its media spend is estimated to be about US$30 million.
