Haymarket Media Group, the parent company of Campaign, has today announced the launch of Campaign Germany

Marking Campaign’s entrance to the DACH region of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the new website has been launched in a licence partnership with specialist media publisher Oberauer.

Its rollout follows Campaign’s expansion into Canada earlier this year and is part of Haymarket’s global expansion strategy.

Kevin Costello, global chief executive of Haymarket Media Group, said: "Launching officially in the DACH region today marks a significant step in our global expansion, reflecting the importance of Germany’s advertising sector to our growth plans, and I am eager to see how Campaign will engage and inspire both established and emerging audiences in this thriving market."

In addition to the DACH region, Campaign has a footprint across nine markets through sites serving the UK, US, Canada, Asia-Pacific, China, Japan, Middle East, India and Turkey.

Under the leadership of Jess MacDermot, global portfolio director for Haymarket Business Media, the brand also plans to launch in Indonesia before the end of the year.

MacDermot said: "Campaign helps agencies, brands, and media owners worldwide grow their businesses and celebrate their creativity. We are delighted to be expanding into the DACH market— the largest combined advertising market in mainland Europe—as its presence is invaluable and is hugely influential. We look forward to collaborating with agencies and brands of all sizes and helping them achieve new heights."

Campaign Germany will operate using the same paid-for content strategy of the brand’s other regional sites, with full access to all its content available on a single subscription and corporate licences.

The editorial team will be led by editor-in-chief Bärbel Egli-Unckrich, who previously worked for German marketing and communications news publication Horizon as lead editor of creation and later senior editor.

Nina Kirst, former deputy editor-in-chief at design and communications magazine Page, who has been working as director of communications at learning for-purpose organisation Storypark this year, has joined Campaign Germany as deputy editor-in-chief. David Wöllenstein will join as editor in January.

Expressing her excitement at the launch, Egli-Unckrich said: “In the past weeks, we have been in close contact with the German creative and advertising industry and have some exciting exclusive content coming soon. We don't just want to focus on local stories, but also specifically promote international exchange—true to the motto: We bring German advertising to the world and the most exciting trends from around the world to Germany.”

In addition to the new title, Haymarket also plans to launch a German language version of the Agency of the Year Awards for the DACH region, and is exploring the expansion of other events including the Campaign Big Awards.

Verena Oberauer, head of digital media, and Dagny Oberauer, head of marketing and sales, at Oberauer, added: “With Campaign Germany, we will become even more involved in the field of advertising and marketing. In Haymarket, we have found an ideal partner who offers an international view of this exciting industry and at the same time gives the German-speaking scene international visibility."
